When 8-year-old Mick crosses the street and a stray dog saves his life by jumping in front of a car, their lives are changed forever. Author Debora De Sant’Anna, a Canadian born in Brazil, wrote the Pillow the Dog stories based on the bedtime stories she would tell her children every night. During the pandemic, she finally decided to follow her passion to write children’s books in her home, which smells like dogs and children. “For me,” she says, “this is the scent of unconditional love.”
